A while
back I posted on Facebook to watch this space. Yes, it has been a number of
months and I wondered whether or not I would share the entire story with you, involving devil's advocate taxi drivers and cursed yoga sessions. I've
opted for not sharing and just cutting to the chase.
Back in April I attended a work event at The Star which
featured a motivational speaker named Sebastian Terry who started a movement called "100 Things".
"What
started as one man’s journey to find purpose in life has grown into a global
movement of people chasing their dreams and helping others do the same."
As I
listened to Sebastian talk about the death of a friend sparking the question "what would he have done if he knew it was coming?" I knew I wanted to get on-board.
Even more-so when he spoke of the community element of helping one another tick
things off. For every one person that says they want to do xyz he has 10 people
saying they'd like to help people do xyz.
I decided I
wanted to create my own community of family and friends writing lists and
helping each other tick things off. Even better, helping each other tick things
off which also benefit worthy causes and the greater community.
It's a simple
idea. What do you want to do? Ok, at first it sounds hard, but once you write one thing, another comes to mind and before you know it your list is well under
way.
My own list
is not quite halfway there and so far I've ticked off three things. But it's
no fun alone and I have things on my list which can’t be done on my own. Additionally,
I want to help people tick things off their list! So let’s get listing and
ticking!
